The gravity metaphor mostly holds, but the discount rate part invites a challenge.

Across the CMA panel, sixty-one providers pricing US Treasuries put the consensus expected return at 4.30%, the tightest dispersion in the entire fixed income set, and it hasn't moved this quarter. If the constant didn't shift, semis didn't get repriced by gravity.

They got repriced by one of the fast forces you're telling everyone else to ignore.
